The story

Banco ledgers opened in 1675 with the commercial lira’s legal valuation. The outside-bank tariff changed in 1741 while banco kept the older values. This supports an institutional branch from the older commercial account tradition. [1]

The shared initial valuation was not a permanent one-to-one peg. The 1675–1741 interval describes institutional use followed by legal divergence, rather than a single established founding day. [1]
