The story
The pound, groot and fixed gulden amounts belonged to a system of accounting relationships. These denominations do not each require a separate currency. [1]
Leuven’s gulden accounts show a shift away from a changing gold reference toward fixed stuiver reckoning. The local evidence does not date a simultaneous change everywhere. [2]
