The story
The consolidated Currency Ordinance identifies the Saint Helena pound divided into 100 pence and sterling parity; the underlying ordinance dates to 1975. [1]
Local monetary unit and local obligations are explicitly denominated independently of sterling. Statutory parity and UK-note co-circulation do not erase this boundary. [2]
