Venezuelan bolívar

VES · Research draft

1 October 2021: scale and coexistence provisionsCurrency scale and cash coexistence

The resolution divides specified prices and financial balances by 1,000,000 for the new scale and applies the wage-adjustment rule from 1 October 2021. Article 7 allows qualifying older banknotes of at least 10,000 bolívares to circulate after 1 October 2021 pending a separate demonetisation resolution. Inference: ISO Amendment 170 assigns VED as an auxiliary redenomination code and explicitly leaves VES in place; it does not identify a separate digital currency species.
