The story
The DFJ dinar replaced Serbian occupation dinars in the 1945 monetary unification. The April rates law valued 100 occupation Serbian dinars at 5 DFJ dinars and applied conversion to wartime obligations; prewar Yugoslav obligations were treated separately. [1]
Occupation Serbian dinar obligations and money entered the DFJ conversion in 1945, at 20:1 for the specified occupation-currency scope; exceptional certificates and older claims followed separate procedures. [2]
Turning points
Territorial currency separation
Occupied Serbia acquired a separate Serbian dinar after Yugoslavia’s partition. This was one of several occupation monetary areas. [3]
