The story

Law establishes escudo unit and public-account denomination. [1]

The ministerial exposition explicitly replaces the current principal real with the escudo of 10 reales; enacted articles 1 and 6 establish escudo and public-account use. [2]

RoyalOrder 8 March 1865 requires escudo amounts in overseas public accounts and documents from 1 July 1865, regardless of delayed coin changes. [3]
